Spencer-Roberts & Associates has provided government and political consulting since 1961. Its founders, Stuart K Spencer and Bill Roberts, were responsible for electing nationwide many local, statewide, and Presidential candidates until 1990. His daughter, Dr. Karen Spencer, owns the firm. As lifelong Californians, Spencer-Roberts currently focuses their efforts on issues affecting California. Contributing to this effort, Jason Vega has joined Spencer-Roberts as a consultant and Sacramento lobbyist.

Since 1991, Spencer-Roberts has been a registered lobbying firm in Sacramento, California. The company provides clients advice on state legislative, regulatory, and administrative matters.

What makes Spencer-Roberts different from other firms? California is the six largest economy in the world. A complex and diverse environment with approximately 36 million people. The Spencer family has been in California for six generations now. Stuart K. Spencer has known or been involved in every election since 1961. Karen Spencer was the California lobbyist in Washington, D.C. for five years, representing every state agency in our Nation's capitol. She has also worked in the State legislature. Currently, Dr. Spencer teaches a Master's public policy course at the University of Southern California Sacramento campus. Jason Vega, a native Californian, is affiliated with the Latino Peace Officers Association among other Latino organizations, works many issues with state legislators, and has worked at the Secretary of State's office.

What is Spencer-Roberts mission? Spencer-Roberts has a long institutional memory of California political life and government. We have seen the political ebbs and flows of California politics and government. So due to this long memory, it is apparent that California is at the national cutting edge. This cutting edge can be a challenging and changing, and it can be a rewarding to do business. Difficult at times but workable. We work diligently with the new and constantly changing political, legislative, administrative, and regulatory environment that exists all over California. We work hard to provide the necessary stability to make solid policy recommendations to our clients in this changing political environment that defines California. We bring years of political campaigning, legislative work, working for Governor's and other elected officials, and networking with diverse communities. We work with clients and other interests by bringing them to the table. And we have never been afraid to take our client's good policy recommendations to decision makers.

However, most importantly, we have maintained the values that our founder instilled in our company.
